    Confined Space Entry
  • Applicable legislation - federal or provincial regulations and any governing standards
    Identification of confined spaces
    Hazard identification - identification of both atmospheric and physical hazards
    Lockout and tagout procedures, blanking or blinding procedures.
    Effects of atmospheric hazards - oxygen deficiency, etc.
    Monitoring and testing of spaces
    Ventilation, cleaning & purging of confined spaces
    Protective equipment - both personal and general.
    Written Entry Procedures and Permits
    Use of confined space equipment, including:
    - Retrieval systems; tripods and davit retrieval systems
    - Full body harnesses; untangling, donning, adjusting
    - Supplied Air Respirators and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
    - Ventilators
    - Atmospheric Monitors
    - Rescue considerations; duties of a safety watch, procedures, etc.
    - Inspection, selection, care, maintenance and storage of confined space equipment.
    - Simulated entry and rescue; trainees follow written procedures and perform a confined space entry and simulated rescue.
